Keith Bradsher, Gift-Bearing Officials Try to Lure Chinese Factories Inland; A cutthroat competition to attract domestic industries to the interior. New York Times, Aug 28, 2014.
My comment: The first sentence of the English-language report is: “The Renley Watch Manufacturing Company is one of the companies that helped coastal southeastern China displace Switzerland as the center of the world's watchmaking industries.”
(a) Renley (香港) 運年錶業集團董事 總經理及創辦人 劉展灝 LAU Chin Ho, Stanley)
(b) I have no idea what the sentence is talking about. Switzerland’s dominance is unshakeable, manufacturing most movements in the world. I search the Web but find nothing indicate China (or Hong Kong) is moving ahead in matchmaking. Otherwise why would 表哥, the disgraced Chinese official, show off foreign watches?
