My comment:
(a) I can never understand why citizens of advanced economies will come to Taiwan to work. I mean those earning local currency (as opposed to expats dispatched by multinationals and taking in home pays). For the former, after a few years when they are leaving and converting their savings from local currency into foreign currencies, the money is paltry. Perhaps some of the former just want an experience in China/Taiwan, then they may not care (more or less like Mormon missionaries whom I am familiar with).
(b) I am certain "2014" is wrong. My educated guess is a 2011 press release based on PRC's 2010 census. (It takes time to crunch numbers. US Census Bureau is the same.)
