Marisa Lascher, Lessons from the Millennial Next Door; After Meeting a young man, a woman realizes her search for love was all wrong. New York Times, Oct 22, 2017 (in the Sunday column "Modern Love"). https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/ ... uddenly-myself.html
Excerpt in the window of print: Our honest exchange was so refreshing. Dates my age disguised their fear with arrogance.
Note:
(a) "I was 37, single, unemployed and depressed * * * my studio apartment on East 23rd Street in Manhattan * * * Since taking a buyout at my Wall Street firm * * * My 23rd Street building was near three colleges. When I signed the lease, I didn’t realize the place had so many student renters, people who understandably liked to party."
(i) buyout https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buyout

(A) E 23rd Street, Manhattan is within striking distance of Baruch College, City University of New York; School of Visual Arts (1947- ; private for profit); New York University.
(B) However, NYU Law school is based in 40 Washington Square South, a short street on the southern boundary of the Square. Washington Square South connects with West 4th Street. Hence it is quite a distance from 23rd Street.
(b) "One afternoon in the elevator, I saw one of the guys from next door * * * he said[,] 'It's my last year of law school.' * * * 'How old are you guys?' I said. 'Like, 23?' 'Yeah, well, I'm 23,' he said."
I am clueless why a third-year law student might was 23. Most probably should be 25.
