(a) This is the only interview of Mr Ko (that I can find) after his initial arrest.
(b) The accusations against him are under development.
(c) Taiwan -- actually, Republic of China (as the crime has been on the book since the government was based in China) -- is the only nation in the world that has the crime of 图利. Today I learn that a government official may be charged with this crime when he breaches any law or regulation to facilitate another to profit. However, I do not know what law Mr Ko is accused of breaking.

(iii) " ' [on Friday, Aug 30, 2024] They [prosecution] came to my home to search at 7 am, and questioned me all the way until 3 o'clock in the morning the next day,' he said. 'When I refused the late-night questioning ... they offered to give me three hours of rest before resuming. After I declined, they detained me [on Monday, Sept 2, 2024 as a pretrial detainee].' Ko said his meals consisted of two pieces of bread and a drink. 'For three days, I had to sleep on the floor, and there was no shower or bed available. The lights were never turned off" for monitor in case of suicide.
That is three days of detention: Aug 31 to Sept 2.

This report was made when 台湾高等法院 reversed the Sept 1, 2024 ruling of 台北地方法院 to release Mr Ko -- but before the latter court detained him the next day on Sept 5, 2024.
