My comment:
(1) Governor Jon Huntsman Jr.--Jon is short form of "Jonathan"--is the son
of billionaire businessman and philanthropist Jon Huntsman of Huntsman
Corporation, a large chemical company founded in 1982 with annual revenue $
11.5b.
(2) He was elected as Utah governor first in November, 2004 and wa re-
elected last November.
(3) The first lady of Utah is Mary Kaye. Wikipedia, which was updated for
the ambassadorship when I read it just now, indicates, "Together they have
seven children: [five biological children]. Gracie Mei (b. 2000), who is
adopted from China, and another baby girl from India, Asha Bharati (b. 2006)
."
As Most Ame4ricans, they let known their tie to Taiwan.

当然，这个岗位让洪博培争取到，实在是求之不得。早在小布什定驻华大使的时候，洪就曾经和雷德（Clark T. Randt）争过，甚至为此他还动用了国会游说关系，以至于《华盛顿邮报》曾经预测他就是驻华大使。但可惜雷德和小布什不但是耶鲁大学同室同学，而且是兄弟会会友，这种铁哥们的关系，岂是父亲旧臣这一层关系的洪博培能比得过的。而且赖斯在面试洪的时候也不看好他，所以一切争取都没有效果，最后雷德出任大使。2004年底，洪竞选犹他州州长成功，走上了另外的政治道路。
