My comment:
(a) ASUS is surprisingly strong worldwide, forcing both market researchers
to have top six, instead of the usual five.
(b) Lenovo performs briliantly WORLDWIDE, which includes China--Lenovo's
home base. It is unclear how much Lenovo's growth is outside China. If the
growth mostly was derived from China, the feat is less admirable. See

These are what Gartner and IDC have to say about Lenovo:
(i) Gartner: "Lenovo's PC shipments increased 47.2 percent in the second
quarter of 2010, but there were some concerns over profitability as Lenovo
was aggressive on pricing in key regions.
(ii) IDC: "Lenovo had a strong quarter with over 47% growth and impressive
gains in all regions, especially EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] and
emerging markets. The company continued to capitalize on its strength in
Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), but also maintained rapid gains in North
America and Europe. Strong Portable PC growth was a major driver, but
Desktop deals into emerging markets and business renewals also played a part.
(c) There is no denying that Acer lost steam in US market.

Acer is not doing well in US, probably due to declining market of netbooks.
