Americans tend to eat meat and nothing else from the carcass.

So I was surprised to learn, when reading Bridget Jones' Diary years ago, of

Steak and kidney pie
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steak_and_kidney_pie

So one day, I asked an Englishman what it tasted like, particularly the kidney part. (We eat kidney In Taiwan; I enjoyed it.) He did not say much. I responded by saying that if one day I should visit his country, I'd try one.

By the way, I forgot inthe original to add
蜜饯派 mince pie

British sweet pie traditionally served during the Christmas season

mincemeat (n):
"1: minced meat
2: a finely chopped mixture (as of raisins, apples, and spices) sometimes with meat that is often used as pie filling"
