"Digital imaging has been a bright spot for Sony's electronics business, helped by new models such as its NEX series of compact digital cameras with interchangeable lenses.
"The company is looking to meet particularly strong demand for its Exmor and Exmor R sensors used in smartphones and digital-still cameras. The Exmor R has sold well due to rising interest for cameras capable of shooting in low light.
My comment: There is no need to read the rest.

"Lenovo increased its share of Russia's market to 8.3% of PCs shipped in the third quarter from just 1.4% in the same period in 2008, according to research firm IDC.
"The company also delayed the release of the IdeaPad U1, a hybrid laptop with a screen that can be detached and used as a tablet, which created buzz when Lenovo unveiled a prototype at the January Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. * * * The company declined to say when the product might be released, however.

My comment: In the print but not online, each of the ten trends is numbered. No. 9 is China, whose pertinent quote is:
"Chinese makers of low-cost, unbranded cellphones doubled their market share over the past year to account for 33% of all cellphone sales in the third quarter, according to Gartner.
The way I read the Gartner's Press release is white-box cellphones worldwide market share reaches 33%, rather than those (white-box cellphones, that is) made in China making up 33% of global market share. Read it yourself.

?In the third quarter, white-box manufacturers continued to expand their reach outside of China into markets such as India, Russia, Africa and Latin America,' said Ms. [Carolina] Milanesi[, research vice president at Gartner].
"The rise of white-box manufacturers from Asia has also helped the 慜thers?section, as a proportion of overall sales, increasing its market share to 33.0 percent in the third quarter of 2010.

My comment: This report is about architecture, not high tech. Take a look at the photographs, and that is it.
