(a) Xidi  安徽省黄山市黟县西递镇西递村 (黟县位于黄山山脉南麓; 西递镇原名东源乡, 1988年更名)

(b) The article states, "Xidi, in particular, has an illustrious history. Founded in 1047 by the Hu family, Xidi began to grow rich as a trading center during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). As the population swelled, the Hus gained power as imperial officials and built elaborate two-story compounds and giant archways."

This is the first time I learned that buildings with more than one fllor existed in ancient China.
