"普利兹克建筑奖由杰伊·普利兹克和他的妻子辛迪·普利兹克于1979年创立，每年度授予一位做出杰出贡献的在世的建筑师

"王澍1985年获得南京工学院(现东南大学)建筑系本科学位，三年后从该校硕士研究生毕业。

"1997年王澍和他的妻子陆文宇在杭州创办了'业余建筑工作室。' 对于工作室的起名，他的解释是：'对我而言，不管我是一个工匠还是业余的，都是一样的。'

"2000年王澍完成了他第一个主要作品——苏州大学文正学院图书馆。

"他的其它重要作品全部是在中国完成的。主要作品包括2005年完成的宁波美术馆项目，同年完成的宁波五散房项目 * * * 他在宁波的作品还有2008年完成的宁波博物馆。在他定居的城市杭州，王澍于2004年完成了中国美术学院象山新校区一期工程，二期工程于2007年落成。

"2007年，他在杭州还建造了由6个26层的高塔组成的大型高层集合公寓'钱江时代-垂直院宅，' 并因此获得2008年德国全球高层建筑奖提名。他的作品还有2006建成的金华'瓷屋'茶室

"王澍目前担任杭州的中国美术学院建筑艺术学院院长，并且设计了象山校园800亩区域内的21座建筑，同时还在学校授课。这是他设计的最重要的一个建筑群，用了两个三年的时间才完成。
