(2) J Michael Cole, Taiwan Mulls Buying Used M1 Tanks; Taiwan has been trying to procure the Abrams battle tank since the early 2000s, but critics say that it is unsuited to the nation’s mountainous terrain. Taipei Times, July 24, 2012 http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/ ... 12/07/24/2003538506
("About 480 M60A3 tanks acquired in the 1990s, as well as 450 M-48H and 300 M-48A5 medium tanks, comprise the Army’s modern battle tank force, which also includes the CM11 (modified M48H turrets mated to M60 hulls) and CM12 (modified CM11 turrets mated to M48A3 hulls) variants")
Note: What is important to me is what tanks Taiwan has, not what it wishes to have (which is left for another day, when US agreed to it).

My comment: The last time I returned to US was 1992, 20 years ago. I never encountered any problem in filling out immigration form(s). I can not recall what I entered for country (Republic of China?). I assume the issue poped up recently, due to the computer use which did not list Taiwan or Republic of China.
