(1) A while back, I had a posting at the Sex board of Mitbbs.com that called attention to
Ruth Padawer, Keeping Up With Being Kept.New York Times Magazine, Apr. 12, 2009.

(a American web site SeekingArrangement.com to match sugar daddies and the pampered)
(2) Now there is this article, about web sites in China which do similar tricks.
Kellie Schmitt, My Friend Is a Mail-Order Bride: Serving as matron of honor should be a privilege. But how could I endorse her marriage of convenience? Marie Claire, October 2009.

Note: The difference between "matron of honor" and "maid of honor" is that the latter is reserved for a woman who has never been married. A woman who is divorced is still a matron of honor.
My comment: I am not as queasy as the author. I see nothing wrong here. Even if the Shanghai woman sells for a price to be a wife, she is not the only one to do it. The future husband is "a Chinese-Canadian;" I wonder whether she is ever qualified as a 外F女.
