My comment:
(a) Neither report has the writer's name published.
(b) The differences between the (1) and (2) are
(i) title;
(ii) Paragraph 1 in (1) is gone.
(iii) Paragraph 7 in (1)--excluding headings--had "星期天，方励之教授夫妇从旅居美国的家中接受了美国之音的采访，回忆了那段时间内和李洁明夫妇的交往。" In (2), the words after "星期天," were deleted.
(iv) Two sections with the headings of *驻华经历事业顶点* and *方励之、李淑贤的回忆*, respectively, were reversed in order.
(c) Perhaps it is a mere editorial change. I do not know.

About reporter's name, I was wrong. Both reports--(1) and (2)--named "记者: 燕青 | 华盛顿." While the cache in Mirrorbooks.com, as shown in (1), did not name the reporter, that (i.e., cache) of Boxun.com 博讯 does have "记者: 燕青 | 华盛顿."
