(d) A Japanese blogger on Feb 20, 2013 talked about the report in BBC radio. The blog, in Japanese, gave a summary (of the BBC report) and replied.
The replies were as follows.
(i) About red-stick men (in Japanese: 赤い棒の人). From the standpoint of efficiency and prodictivity, they should be hired only if necessary. I did see two person working on a hole 1 meter each side, accompanied by a person directing the traffic. However, from the employment viewpoint, their hiring creates jobs.
(ii) About banning dance after midnight. There have been petitions to life the ban. I can think of no reasons for the ban. I think government should get out of this business.
(iii) Japanese fruits are unmistakenly splendid. Sweet-tasting, juicy, and perfect-looking, no doubt they are expensive. But this is strategic approach we purposely adopt, and , I think, they are price-wise competitively overseas. The marketing is expensive means excellent. in both domestic and foreign markets, Japanese fruits aim at high-rollers. Being rare makes them dear.
