标题: LED Panel of 4k Ultra HD
My comment:
(a) I am unsure of significance of Taiwan to dominate in 4k or "ultra HD" panel or TV.
(b) After all, the earliest any nation starts broadcasting television in ultra high-definition (HD) format is Japan, in July 2014 (moving ahead from the earlier 2016 schedule, and thus beating South Korea).
(c) The competing display technology is OLED, a technology alost totally controlled by Samsung.
(d) Both technologies are very expensive, at the present not affordable to the mass.
(4) OLED

two consecutive paragraphs:

"David Hsieh, vice president of the Greater China market at DisplaySearch, said Taiwanese suppliers are expected to account for 70 percent of the ultra high-definition panel market in 2013, with the rest taken by South Korean vendors.

"A total of 2.6 million ultra high-definition panels, with 3840 x 2160 (4k2k) resolution, will be shipped this year, up from only 63,000 units in 2012

(2) At the January 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Samsung showed off an 85-inch 4k ultra HD LED (but not OLED) TV, whereas Sony, a 56-inch television set of 4k ultra HD/OLED combined technology.

Here is the press release from Sony:
