My comment:
(a) Public Esteem for Military Still High. Pew Research Religion & Public Life Project, July 11, 2013. http://www.pewforum.org/2013/07/ ... ilitary-still-high/
(b) That is because the survey does not include nurse or car salesman (the latter maybe because it is an occupation, not a profession; consistently in the bottom). The former perennially gets higher respect in US than medical doctor.
