(1) Bloomberg View: Women Belong in the Military -- and the Draft; Fairness and preparedness demand that females be required to register.

My comment:
(a) There is no need to read the text.
(b) Under federal law, to be drafted a man in US who turns 18 must register with Selective Service System (an independent agency of US; formed in 1917; based in Arlington, Virginia)

(2) China's Millennials Are Happy to Share.

(3) Craig Giammona and Leslie Patton, Small Suppliers, Big Problems.
www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/ ... eatest-weakness-too

Quote:

"Chipotle is fresh -- and suddenly, that’s a problem.

"The E coli outbreak linked to Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc has sickened at least 52 people in nine states. And pinpointing the source of the contamination hasn’t been easy. Unlike the big burger-and-fries chains that deal with a handful of beef and potato suppliers and distributors, Chipotle depends on a more complex supply chain for its 1,900 outlets that includes scores of small, independent farmers.

Chipotle "also struggled at times to secure a reliable flow of the hormone and antibiotic-free chicken, beef and pork it uses to make burritos. The company has said that 95 percent of the pork raised in the US does not meet its standards.  Earlier this year, the company suspended a pork supplier after an audit determined that its pigs weren’t kept in 'deeply bedded barns' and didn’t have adequate access to the outdoors.

"Even before the health scares * * * The company has faced higher food costs associated with sourcing GMO- and hormone-free ingredients.

Note:
(a) summary underneath the title in print: Chipotle's Strengths are suddenly Its weaknesses, too
(b) Regarding quotation 3 ("deeply embedded barns"). Chipotle says,

"Pigs living in deeply bedded barns and/or outdoors are able express many more of their natural tendencies than pigs raised conventionally. Deeply bedded barns lined with straw allow the pigs to rest comfortably, and drastically reduces the risk of broken limbs and other health issues associated with concrete slatted floors. Pigs also love to play with and eat the hay, and in comparison to concrete floors, the straw bedding keep pigs warm in the wintertime and cool in the summer. Deeply bedded barns and pasture allow pigs enough room to move around comfortably and engage in their normal social tendencies like rooting in the thick straw beds.

* Search images.google.com with (concrete slatted floor) and you will understand.
(c) It conjures up an earlier controversy of China's small dairy farmers and their milk. I am not saying  Taiwan is better. Not at all. It just that the world trains their eyes on China and US.  There is not enough data about Taiwan.
(d) data (n; Latin, plural of datun; "noun plural but singular or plural in construction")
www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/data

That means there is not enough data, there are not enough data: both are correct (in English).
