My comment:
(a) In Q1, 2010, Taiwan's GDP increased by 13.27%, "which outpaced
China’s 11.9 percent expansion."  Compared with Japan's Japan's 4.9% and
America's 3.2%. All figures are annualized rate. However, Taiwan's and China
's are year-on-year whereas Japan's and America's are quarter-on-quarter.
(b) Taiwan's is not exactly spectacular. The GDP for Q1 2009 was dismal, which was -21% (y/y, annualized) according to Economist at the time.
