(1) Choi Chi-yuk, Disgraced police hero branded a traitor by Beijing; Government condemns former Chongqing police chief Wang Lijun as a traitor to his country and the Party. South China Morning Post, Mar 7, 2012 (twelve hours ago).

My comment: This report is exclusive/a scoop; no other news outlet (besides (2) below) has reported about it so far (I did not check Chinese media, for Boston Public Library, where I am, has no computer available to the public that can read foreign languages).

(2) Former Police Chief Branded a Traitor in China; Shedding light on China's internal party politics is never easy but it appears even Beijing is not immune to the occasional political leak. Rasdio Australia, Mar 7, 2012 (four hours ago).

Quote:

moderator Karen Snowdown: "Now it emerges President Hu Jintao has denouced Wang as a traitor to the country and the Party during a briefing to Congress delegates

"SAUTMAN: But I wouldn't say it would be unusual for Hu Jintao to denounce somebody like Wang Lijun because Bo Xilai who's the Party Secretary in Chongching and was Wang Lijun's boss is not somebody who's favoured by Hu Jintao. That is Hu Jintao has a political system of followers and Bo Xilai is definitely not among them.

My comment:

(c) In the thierd paragraph from the bottom, Professor Barry Sautman, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, says: "Its not unlikely that he will survive in Chongching because C who will be the next President of China has been saying many favourable things about what Bo Xilai's been doing in Chongching."

Naturally "C" should be "Xi."
