(1) Salvador Rodriguez, Google Chrome Becomes Most Used Web Browser. Los Angeles Times, May 22, 2012
http://www.latimes.com/business/ ... me-browser-20120521,0,3235434.story
("The Google Web browser received more usage than Microsoft's browser during the week of May 14 to May 20, marking the first time Chrome has received the highest traffic for a full seven days * * * according to the website StatCounter")

(2) Amir Efrati, New Home for Computer Screens: The Face; Wearable glasses showing turn-by-turn driving directions, or displaying email and text messages, could be the future. Wall Street Journal, May 21, 2012
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB ... 18181348485336.html
(Google and smaller copanies such as Austrain comany Knapp, Lumus Ltd, Vuzix Corp, Laster TechnologiesSAS and Recon Instruments Inc)

Two consecutive paragraphs:

"At Knapp, the company began working on its warehouse-picking device by buying lenses from 12-year-old Israeli firm Lumus. The lenses, placed in front of an eye, can create the effect of watching images on an 87-inch TV screen from a distance of 10 feet.

"Lumus said the US Air Force current uses its technology to show weapons information in the helmets of fighter pilots. The company added it is working with several hardware manufacturers to build consumer devices around its lenses, but declined to comment further.

My comment:
(a) To read this report, there is no need to sign in.
(b) The report uses the term "alternate reality," whereas Wiki has a page "visual reality."
(c) The latest issue of Aviation Week (cover date May 14, 2012) has a cover story: "A Focus of Glass; Advanced avionics for interactive cockpits" overlaid with a photo of iPad-like console. The article at issue:
Graham Warwick, Advancing Vision; Head-up or head-down, synthetic vision is on a path to enable to enable lower visibility landings.
, with more photos of electronic images on top of real world (like an airstrip with landmarks (all electronic) superimposed on an airport that can be hard to discern due to weather. The article is not freely available online.
