"Federal prosecutors looking into possible bribery of foreign officials by Avon Products Inc. have asked to speak to Andrea Jung, the former chief executive and current full-time chairman, people familiar with the matter said.

"Prosecutors' specific reason for speaking to Ms Jung couldn't be determined, and is unclear when a meeting might take place. But their interest shows their investigation is reaching the highest level of the door-to-door beauty company.

"Prosecutors reached out to the former CEO through her lawyer, Theodore Wells Jr., a well-known defense attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP whom she hired in recent weeks, according to people familiar with the matter. Ms Jung hasn't been accused of any wrongdoing.
