My Oct 12, 2019 posting titled "A Good Man Is Getting Even Harder to Find" where I wrote, "So black women choose white men in drove." It should be "in droves."

===========================
There is no need to read the rest of wither report.

Damien Cave, China Is Leasing a Pacific Island. Its Residents are Shocked. Deal Stirs Fear of Military plans.

(a) Excerpt in the window of print: A place where Allied forces fought a bloody battle against Japan during World War II.

(b) Quote (from print, which varies somewhat from the online version):

"SYDNEY, Australia — The island of Tulagi ['an island of a little over 1,000 people': NYT; 5.5 km by 1 km, in the nation of Solomon Islands: Wikipedia] served as a South Pacific headquarters for Britain then Japan,  and during World War II, its natural deepwater harbor [across from Guadalcanal] made it a military gem.  Now China is moving in with plans to effectively take control.  Under a secretive deal signed [Sept 22, 2019-] * * *

"Even compared to previous Chinese development deals in nearby countries — including a wharf in Vanuatu, whose terms were not publicly released for years — the Tulagi agreement is remarkable for both its scope and lack of public input.  The renewable 75-year lease was granted to the China Sam Enterprise Group [Co, Ltd 中国森田企业集团有限公司(简称:中国森田); based in Beijing], a conglomerate founded in 1985 as a state-owned enterprise, according to corporate records.

"during World War II, when Japan wrested control of island assets, which were won back in turn by American and Australian troops in bloody battles.

(a) "它想做什么?" No outsiders know. That is why I say there is no need to read the rest.

(2) Erika Stallings, Black People Need More BRCA Testing; An inherited mutation caused Beyoncé's dad's breast cancer. (op-ed).

the first four paragraphs:

"MATTHEW KNOWLES, father of the artists Beyoncé and Solange, recently announced that he had been told that he has a breast cancer caused by BRCA2 gene mutation and that there is a fifty percent chance his children have inherited it.

"In 2007, ny mother was in a similar situation. She learned after receiving a breast cancer diagnosis at age 42 for a second time -- her first bout with cancer came when she was 28 -- that she carried a BRCA2 mutation. It means that as her daughter, I have even odds [50-50 chance] of having inherited it from her.

"BRCA1 and -2 gene mutations can elevate a carrier's lifetime risk if developing breast, ovarian, pancreatic or prostate cancers along with melanoma. Although he had a family history of breast cancer, Mr Knowles had never been referred for genetic counseling or testing to evaluate his risk of having a BRCA mutation.

"His story is all too common among African-Americans. Black women are substantially less likely to undergo genetic counseling and testing for BRCA mutations compared with white women, even though research suggests that the rate of BRCA mutations is higher among black women than it is for white.

Note:
(a) At the end of this article is "ERIKA STALLING is a lawyer."
(b) With family history of breast and ovarian cancers, Angelina Jolie announced in 2013 (at age 37) that she carried a BRCA1 mutation. She underwent a prophylactic operations to remove breasts (2013) and ovaries (2015).
(c) BRCA is short for BReast CAncer. BRCA1 and -2 are involved in DNA repair (in the nucleus).
