(1) Spencer Ackerman, Taiwan’s Massive, Mega-Powerful Radar System Is Finally Operational. Wired, Mar 8, 2013
http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2013/03/taiwan-radar/
("This 105-foot system is about as advanced as early-warning radar arrays get. Known as PAVE PAWS, for Phased Array Warning System * * * The system creates a 240-degree virtual eye, allowing Taiwan to see deep into China, and even into Japan and North Korea. Only a handful of countries — the US, Russia, maybe* China itself — have this kind of early-warning system")

Quote:

"PAVE PAWS radars are located at Cape Cod Air Force Station, Mass., and Beale Air Force Base, Calif.

"PAVE is an Air Force program name, while PAWS stands for Phased Array Warning System. * * * The system also has a secondary mission of earth-orbiting satellite detection and tracking.
(b) Wiki page under "PAVE PAWS" shows a third site in Alaska.
(c) Pave Paws Early Warning Radar System. Raytheon, undated.

("Pave Paws is a UHF, all solid-state, dual-faced radar system")

(table: UHF from 300 MHz to 3 GHz frequency[, where mega- is 106 and giga-, 109])
(d) I showcase the Wired report, because until today I was unaware what exactly the high-performance radar is--and its frequency.

(2) Chen Pei-huang and YL Kao, Taiwan Receives Upgraded E-2K Early Warning Aircraft. Central News Agency, Mar 9, 2013

Note:
(a) Northrop Grumman E-2 Hawkeye
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_E-2_Hawkeye
(sections 3.2.6 Taiwan: E-2K; Variants: E-2T; 5 Operators: "Republic of China Air Force has four E-2Ts and two E-2C Hawkeye 2000s. The four E-2Ts had been approved to be upgraded to Hawkeye 2000 configuration")
(b) Both E-2T and -2K are versions for Taiwan only, it seems to me. After reading the Wiki page (as well as the CNA report), I am confused how many early warning aircraft Taiwan has: still six?  The Northrop Grumman web site supplies little information for E-2 as a whole.
(c) The CNA report says, "The E-2K aircraft's performance is equivalent to that of the E-2C, which is in service with the US Air Force." I do not see the significance, for the old E-2T and Hawkeye were already at the level of E-2C.
(d) I do not know if US and Taiwan are intentionally roil the water, to confuse PRC, or what?
