My comment: The report is a good read. But what surprises me is terrace 梯田, which I did not know exist in US. The report mentions terrace twice.
(a) photo caption: "Bill Hammitt on his farm near Portsmouth, Iowa, where he has terraced the land, refrained from tilling and taken other measures to curb soil erosion.
(b) The text: "In addition, farmers using modern supersize tractors, built to efficiently cover swaths of land, can find it inconvenient to break up land into smaller sections through buffer areas or terraces.
