Michael Wines, China Takes a Loss to Get Ahead in the Business of Fresh Water. Nwe York Times, Oct 26, 2011
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/2 ... %20water&st=cse
("In Tianjin, deemed a model city for water conservation, 90 percent of water used in industry is recycled; 60 percent of farm irrigation systems use water-saving technologies; 148 miles of water-recycling pipes snake beneath the city. Apartments in one 10-square-mile area of town feature two taps, one for drinking water and one for recycled water suitable for other uses.")

My comment:
(a) Toray Industries
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toray_Industries
(東レ株式会社; established as Toyo Rayon 東洋レーヨン in 1926 by Mitsui Busan 三井 物産(株式会社); headquartered in Tokyo)
(b) Tangshan  河北省 唐山市

(c) My title is my intuition only. I do not know how much, if any, wind turbine and solar panel industries make for China. China reportedly generously subsidizes the two industries, which are both No 1 in the world by sales. Though desalination is not profitable anywhere inthe world, maybe China may make it work--economically and technologically. Who knows?
