My comment: The relationship between Tokyo and Taipei is getting warmer. It is unclear to me
(a) whether it is due to Japan's new prime minister who is, relative to Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), is pro-Taiwan (despite Ma Ying-jeou's antagonism against Japan by, eg, escorting fishing boats to Senkaku islands).
(b) or whether Tokyo is seducing Taipei away from Beijing (thanks to Ma's antagonism).
