Cain Nunns, 在台湾,蓬勃兴起的回收产业把垃圾变成财富. 纽约时报中文网, Dec 3, 2013 (available now)
http://cn.tmagazine.com/technology/20131203/t03taiwan/

, which is translated from

Cain Nunns, A Turnaround in Trash; Shy of space, Taiwan embraces a boom in recycling. New York Times, Nov 30, 2013.

My comment:
(a) The English surname Nunn (not Nunns) is from “Middle English nunn ‘nun’ (Old English nunne, from Latin nonna, originally a respectful term of address for an elderly woman.”
(b) In my childhood (before 1970) Taiwanese sold old newspaper and glass bottles (no plastic in use) to street hawkers on a bike with a large cart. After people moved in apartment buildings, such sale became impossible (for households could not hear the hawking).
