In chronological order:

(1) Fossil-hunting  | Bone China; More dinosaur species have been found in China than anywhere else. Economist, Nov 15, 2014
("Now the site in Zhucheng 山东省潍坊市 诸城市, in Shandong province in eastern China, is known as 'dinosaur valley' 恐龙谷 for its more than 10,000 fossils found to date. * * * 'fearful dragons,' as they are called in Chinese")

My comment: There is no need to read the rest.

(2) Michael O'Sullivan, Letter to the editor. Economist, Nov 15, 2014.
www.economist.com/news/letters/21634983-letters-editor

Note:
(a) It is the second letter in the Web page (and in print also).
(b) "the Chinese term [fearful dragons] is a direct translation of 'dinosaur,' the Greek derivation of which is deinos, meaning 'terrible' and sauros, meaning 'lizard.' The term dinosaur was coined in 1842 by Richard Owen, a British naturalist, and later translated via Japanese to Chinese."

kyōryū 恐竜 【きょうりゅう】 (n): "dinosaur"
(c) The 火車 (Chinese term for train) originated in China, not Japan.
