Old Universities in United Kingdom

(ii) Scotland: capital is Edinburgh and largest city Glasgow. In the 2011 UK census, the population for Edinburgh (477k), Glasgow (593k), and Scotland (5.3m).
(g) Trinity College, Dublin was founded "by Queen Elizabeth I * * * The first Provost of the College was the Archbishop of Dublin, Adam Loftus (after whose former college at Cambridge the institution was named)."
