(c) Rear Admiral Zhang's commentary, to me, compares apple with orange.
Indians a few days ago talked about superiority of their missile defense
over China's. Now Zhnag is about missiles, as opposed to missile defense.
(d) China's missile technology might develop earlier than India's, as judged
by space programs of both nations. But, to me--a layperson--it is hard to
tell who is better in missile technology, especially in area of long-haul
ballistic missiles. You see, US and Russia can and do shoot those missiles
because their lands span a lot of time zones (and American missiles can aim
at the Pacific during training, where many nations were trust territories of
US and still received US aids). China does not have this leisure (from its
western end to East Sea is only three time zones).
The same applies to Taiwan, which has reportedly nurtured indigenous cruise
missiles--but no ballistic missiles--with a range more than 600 km (US does
not want Taiwan to show its hand). However, Taiwan does not have territories
to conduct real tests.
