My comment: The report cites Associated Press as saying "这是美国最高军事领
导人在目前的美中交往中，对北京当局所使用的最严厉的言辞。" However, AP today
does not say it. On the contrary, the sentence appears in

My comment: I did not know of this newspaper until today. But this newspaper
has a pedigree.

My comment: I do not have the transcript of defense secretary's talk. But
this VOA report did not mention three communiques; I am agnostic about if
the omission is an oversight or an herald for something new to come.
