(input costs, wages, land and energy all go up for China's factories. "US import prices from China have fallen over the last year, according to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics." Why? Because Chinese makers are small (placing bargaining power in the hands of the US buyers), plagued by overcapacity and weak demand in the West.  US "retailers can also go elsewhere [in the world] for cheap goods")
