Earlier this year I was in an event where Eric Xu, a cofounder of Baidu, commented about the competition between Google and Baidu or "foreign" vs domestic firms in general. He proudly said that the "they" won't be able to compete with "us",  because the Government has figured it all out. This is especially shameful coming from a guy who is supposed to be one of the the next-generation business leaders in China. Not to mention this approach would harm the information/media industry in the long run, much like what piracy has done to software industry.
