Politics | Xi's Day at the Beach; The leadership's annual retreat will not have been relaxing. Economist, Aug 20, 2016
http://www.economist.com/news/ch ... axing-xis-day-beach
("According to Mr [Victor] Shih [of the University of California, San Diego], the president's [Xi's] faction accounts for just 6% of the group [205 full members of the party's Central Committee]. * * * Mr Xi can rely on remarkably few loyal supporters in the Central Committee because he did not choose its members. They were selected at the same time he was chosen as party leader in 2012, a process overseen by the dominant figures of that period, Mr Hu and the long-retired Mr Jiang")

Note:
(a) "Yang Zhibin supervises the kitchens of Kiessling's restaurant 起士林大饭店 in the resort town of Beidaihe, where he has worked since 1971 * * * Now head chef, Mr Yang helps ensure that little changes at the resort's grandest restaurant.  'There are over 20 dishes on the menu that we've been cooking for 100 years,' he says. 'We wanted to keep the traditional style.' "

Kiessling's restaurant was founded by German Albert Kiessling in 1901 in Tianjing, serving German dishes and desserts. The one in Beidaihe is a branch. The restaurant currently has both 中餐厅 and 西餐厅.

(b) "Some of the jobs [Central Committee] will be filled by the principle of Buggins's turn."
