(a) The "Apple partner" in the subtitle alludes to Foxconn.
(b) The last sentence of the original is: "Locals now refer to Zhengzhou as 'iPhone City.' "  

The cn.nytimes.com has "当地人现在都把郑州称作 '苹果城.' "  And I doubt ordinary Chinese can say "iPhone 城."
(c) Foxconn's Zhenczhou plant is "the world’s biggest iPhone factory."

Whatever happens to Foxconn's Shenzhen plant, which used to be its flagship assembly lines?
(d) The cn.nytimes.com has an online only short story that does not appears in print anywhere:
