Georgia Wells and Kate O'Keefe, US Tells Chinese Firm to Sell Gay Social App. Wall Street Journal, Mar 28, 2019 (front page).
https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s ... ndr-app-11553717942

Two consecutive paragraphs:

"Beijing Kunlun Tech Co Ltd 北京昆仑万维科技股份有限公司, which acquired a majority stake in Grindr in 2016, would have no choice but to share information on Grindr users if demanded by Chinese government, US officials believe, according to people familiar with the matter. That triggered the recent order from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the US known as Cfius, to Kunlun to sell the asset, the people said.

"Grindr said it is the largest social-networking app for gay, bi, trans and queer people, with 'millions of daily users who use our location-based technology in almost every country in every corner of the planet.' The app also has messaging capabilities, including through photos and video, and gives users the option of disclosing their HIV status.

Note:
(a) The report is locked behind paywall. There is no need to read the rest, though.
(b) The title is somewhat misleading. US is not telling Kunlun to sell the app in China. Tather, US orders Kunlun to divest Grindr, by selling Grindr stocks Kunlun currently owns.
