(1) Sistine Chapel
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistine_Chapel
(a) photo caption: "Exterior of the Sistine Chapel."

Sistine Chapel's roof is ordinary. Of note, it is not "barrel roof" (or "bow roof" to its right) in
list of roof shapeshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_roof_shapes
(section 1 Roof shapes, section 1.1 Illustrations)
(b) section 2 Architecture, section 2.1 Structure: "The chapel is a high rectangular building [if one looks down from the top]" + section 2.2 Interior of the Sistine Chapel: "The ceiling of the chapel is a flattened barrel vault springing from a course that encircles the walls at the level of the springing of the window arches. This barrel vault is cut transversely by smaller vaults over each window, which divide the barrel vault at its lowest level into a series of large pendentives rising from shallow pilasters between each window")
(i) Take notice in the last clause: "pendentives * * * between each window." This is correct. Read next.
(ii) On the left margin this section, there is a sketch, whose caption reads: "A reconstruction of the appearance of the west Wall chapel in the 1480s, prior to the painting of the ceiling."
You see one pendentive between a pair of windows. Abd you also see a triangular spandrel right atop each window.

, where Spandrels -- there are eight altogether, four on each side -- are colored. Click "Pendentives" at the horizontal bar in mid-page, and you then see FOUR pendentives at the four corners of the ceiling.

(2) Sistine Chapel ceiling
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistine_Chapel_ceiling
(section 4 Pictorial scheme, section 4.3 pendentives + section 4.5 Ignuti (plural of ignuto) )
(a) English dictionary:
pendentive (n; ultimately from Latin verb pendere which has several definitions: cause to suspend (Latin synonym suspendere), weigh, and ponder; view ILLUSTRATION)
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pendentive
(b) The Wiki page for "Sistine Chapel ceiling" also has "spandrel" in photo caption, another architectural term that is also of triangular shape. View Wiki pages, and you will understand they are CLEARLY different.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spandrel
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pendentive
(c) photo caption: "Separation of Light from Darkness, showing illusionary architecture and flanking Prophets" where you can see God, in red robe, has light and darkness on opposite side of his body.
In the right margin, a photo has the caption: "Ezekias spandrel." Ezekias was a profit.

The Ezekias spandrel is also featured in another photo above, whose caption reads: "Detail showing intersection of first and second registers, with: a prophet, a lunette, a sibyl, ignudi, medallions, bronze figures, and telamones."
(d) Italian-English dictionary:
* ignuto (adjective masculine; "variant, of uncertain origin, of [adjective masculine] nudo naked[, from Latin adjective masculine nūdus nude"): "(literary) nude"
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ignudo
(e) photo caption: "Creation of the Sun, Moon, and Plants."  The sun is yellow, the moon silvery (on the right margin).
