My comment: More than a year ago, a reporter from Financial Times named Robin Kwon, without identifying herself as a reporter, visited ex-president Chen Shui-bian at prison and wrote a report afterwards based on the conversation. Chen has been banned since from receiving any reporter. This ban from writing for magazine  is yet another encroachment of a prisoner's right. Unfortunately the prison has final say. A prisoner in his shoes In US can seek recourse in court, for violation of First Amendment right.

(a) 中華電信 Chunghwa Telecom is the largest telecommunications company in Taiwan. Originally state-owned, it was privatized in 1996 and listed in Taiwan Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange. Still Taiwan government is a major or dominant shareholders. So when Chunghwa declared its intention to terminate service to Falun Gong in the coming ST-2 channels, citing only business reasons, Falun Gong understandably suspected the Ma administration was behind the move to please China. So Falun Gong sought help from members of US Congress, who threatened Taipei with dire consequences.
