My comment:
(a) University of Massachusetts has four undergraduate campuses: Amherst,
Boston, Dartmouth and Lowell (the name of the cities or towns where campuses
are located). Amherst is the flagship campus. So it is unfair, in my view,
to take from each campus. I am familiar with Boston campus which admits
almost all students.
(b) If the program accepts students strictly on the basis of races, it may
very well be unconstitutional under federal constitution. Maybe this is why
it is also open to low-income families and "those among the first in their
families to attend college."
(c) Asians are not considered underrepresented in medicine.

degree.

Among them:
(i) MMEDIC Program (Modular Medical Integrated Curriculum)
(admitting "a limited number of qualified students who have completed two
years of undergraduate study in the College of Arts & Sciences or other
undergraduate colleges at Boston University")
(ii) Seven-Year Program of Liberal Arts and Medical Education
("The first three years are spent in the College of Arts & Sciences, where
the student takes premedical sciences and elective courses in the humanities
and social sciences.In addition, the second summer is spent taking a
required biology course and elective courses in the humanities and social
sciences, so that the undergraduate requirements are completed by the end of
the third academic year.")

Your race may not qualify you for the UMass program. But Tufts and Boston
University are private; their admission criteria are different from that of
UMass.
