("autonomous trucks, trains and drill rigs")

My comment:
(a) Rio Tinto Group
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rio_Tinto_Group
(a British-Australian company based at both Westminster (a London borough) and Melbourne;  founded in 1873, when a multinational consortium of investors purchased a mine complex on the Rio Tinto river, in [province of] Huelva, Spain from the Spanish government)

In Spanish, rio and tionto are the noun and adjective for "river" and "red."
(b) I guess it is all right to operate the above in a desert. It will be trickier if they are in urban areas. See

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304432304576372570709720128.html
("The rising affluence of Asian consumers and a slew of new product launches have heated up competition among electronics firms in the region, with the Korean players taking the lead in terms of sophistication of technology and market share. This has driven tie-ups between Japanese and Taiwanese firms aiming for a bigger slice of the market.")

My comment:
(a) Taiwan commercially is non-threatening to all parties (US and China are two example). Naturally when Japanese companies seek alliance, they look to Taiwanese companies.
