(1) Both IDC and Gartner rank, for 2Q11, Acer as fourth largest PC maker in worldwide market share pf PC shipments, overtaken by Lenovo, which is now No 3 but within striking distance of No 2 Dell. For that quarter, IDC (Lenovo growth rate y/y in worldwide unit shipment 22.9% v Acer -10.1%) and Gartner (Lenovo 22.5% v Acer -20.4%) report, respectively.

My comment: On Apr 13, 2011 IDC and Gartner still ranked Acer second and Dell third in worldwide market share of PC unit shipment, whereas IDC placed Acer behind Dell as numbers 3 and 2, respectively.
