My:
(a) mea culpa (n; Latin: through my fault; mea feminine ablative of meus, my + culpa fault)

* The "ablative" (adj, n) is a grammar case found in Latin but not in English.

(b) Zhu Feng 朱锋
(c) The "flag" in "well-flagged" (vt): "to mark or identify with or as if with a flag"
(d) gauche (adj; French, awakward): "lacking social polish, tactless"
(e) lackey (n): "a liveried male servant, a foot soldier"

* liveried (adj): "wearing livery"
* livery (n): a distinctive uniform worn by the male servants of a household"

The English definitions are from American Heritage Dictionary of English Language (3rd ed, 1992).

(f) I first took notice that China did not repudiate the report in Washington Post. Now, I am surprised Beijing poured its heart out.
(g) China has few female diplomats. The notables are
(i) Zhang Qiyue 章启月, China's ambassador to UK, and
(ii) Fu Ying 傅莹, Vice-Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
