The Source of both IC Insights bulletins below: "Information in this Research Bulletin comes from the 2014 edition of IC Insights’ [900-page] McClean Report" whcih is not free.

(1) Top 13 Foundries Account for 91% of Total Foundry Sales in 2013; TSMC, five other foundries with more than $1.0 billion in revenue. Jan 28, 2014.

Quote:

"TSMC’s 2013 sales were over 4x that of second-ranked GlobalFoundries * * *  As shown, there are only three IDM foundries in the ranking [the rest, 10 altogether, are pure-play] —Samsung, IBM, and MagnaChip.  Samsung was easily the largest IDM foundry in 2013 with over 8x the sales of IBM, the second-largest IDM foundry.

"Powerchip 力晶科技股份有限公司 has recently done very well in the foundry business after struggling to remain competitive in the DRAM business. Powerchip announced in January 2011 that it would stop selling DRAMs under its own brand name to focus on producing other devices such as LCD drivers, CMOS [Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor, "a technology for constructing integrated circuits" Wiki] image sensors, flash memory, and power management devices both for self-branded products and on a foundry basis for others.  The move came after Powerchip agreed to sell all of its DRAM-production output to [Japan's] Elpida, which had been buying about half of the company's commodity DRAMs under a previous foundry agreement. * * * in 2013, Powerchip’s disclosed that it had made the complete transition to a pure-play foundry with sales reaching $1,175 million, 100% of the company’s total IC sales.  Slowly but surely the company has transformed itself into a major IC foundry [2013/2012 [sales] Change (%): 88].

Note:
(a) IDM = integrated device manufacturer ("a semiconductor company which designs, manufactures, and sells integrated circuit (IC) products"  Wiki)
(b) What the report does not say, but the table screams out, is SMIC whose "2013/2012 [sales] Change (%)" is 28%, second highest in the table, after Powerchip. (Vanguard's respective figure is 23%, whose major shareholder is TSMC.)

(2) IC Foundry Business Continues Impressive Growth. Jan 22, 2014
www.icinsights.com/news/bulletin ... -Impressive-Growth/
("Total IC foundry revenue grew to $42.8 billion in 2013, a 14% increase from $37.6 billion in 2012")

Note: There is no need to read the rest.
