("在美国的自由亚洲电台报道说,中国军警在新疆打死 [actually not '打死' but killed by a bomb] 了17人,其中包括 ['seven'] 妇女和儿童。* * * 军队爆炸了一个嫌疑人藏匿的山洞,里面的人全部被炸死,警方没有伤亡")

two consecutive paragraphs:
" 'All terrorists were killed on the 56th day of a "pursue and attack" operation' in the region, China’s Ministry of Public Security announced in a Nov. 14 statement published on its website, referring to the action as a 'great victory in the War on Terror.'
"While the announcement, which was removed shortly after it was posted, did not link the “terrorists” to a specific act, the length of the operation it referred to suggested it had been launched in the aftermath of a Sept 18 attack at the Sogan Colliery in Aksu (in Chinese, Akesu) prefecture’s Bay (Baicheng) county 新疆维吾尔自治区 阿克蘇地區 拜城县.
My comment:
(a) It is 12 noon EST, Wednesday (Nov 18). So far, only the English, not Chinese, channel of RFA has reported the news.
(b) "Aksu (in Chinese, Akesu) prefecture’s Bay (Baicheng) county."
Aksu Prefecture 阿克蘇地區

(The name Aksu is Turkic for 'white water'''/ section 3 Administrative divisions: Baicheng [Bay] County 拜城县)
The "Bay" is NOT English, but "Uyghur Latin alphabet."
