My comment:
(a) Ms Ing-wenTsai, 54 and never married, is the chairperson of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

But singlehood should not be an issue. Former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice (born 1954) is also never married, so am I.
(b) 施明德 Shih Ming-teh left DPP in 2000, soon after Chen Shui-bian was elected president. Later Shih became a turncoat to DDP causes.
(c) Presidential election will be held in March 2012. She and Su Tseng-chang 蘇貞昌 are vying neck-and-neck for DPP nomination, which is to be held starting on April 25.
