My comment: If a Beijing household did get 700,000 yuan compensation without losing a penny to corruption, that would be great. However, two paragraphs down, it is written: "Farmers in Hubei province relocated because of the Three Gorges Dam project received 6,000 yuan in compensation per household, the state-run Global Times reported Sept. 30." It is a difference like heaven and earth.
