My comment:
(a) 宋時選 (1922-2010; 88 years old; 學歷: 專科)
(b) I do not think Chinese--at least Chinese of this generation--heard of
this name. Before reading (1), I did not know Mr. Sung was related to the
Chiangs.
(3) Mr. Sung was 救國團主任 until 1979. Maybe 1 or 2 years before that, I
chanced upon him. I was asking the head of a surgical department of a major
hospital in Taipei why I should love my nation when I simply did not feel
like it. Mr. Sung happened to see a doctor over there that day, and barreled
into the surgeon's office (as they were old friends). The surgeon mentioned
my question to Mr. Sung, who in turn said I could talk to me about this. I
left so that they could chat.

A few weeks later, I went to headquarters of 救國團, asked to talk to him.
There was  no secretary. A young male agent took the message, returned, and
brought me to Mr. Sung's office. He seemed to forget having met me but soon
recalled. But he talked perfunctorily for about two minutes, and the
conversation was over. Still Mr. Sung and another female legislator were the
only two politicians (in both Taiwan and US) that I could call upon as a
stranger. I appreciate it.
(4) After 1979, Mr. Sung was all-powerful as 台灣省黨部主委 and then KMT 組
工會主任.
(5) Those against KMT in Taiwan are made up of different people in different
time. KMT allies might turn into enemies with time. I have not heard of bad
mouthing against him, among different factions of opposition. And I am
surprised that Liberty Times is fond of him.
