Press release: Justice Department Files Statement of Interest in Harvard Discrimination Case Defending Claim That Harvard Intentionally Discriminates on the Basis of Race in Admissions. Civil Division, US Department of Justice, Aug 30, 2018 (Press Release Number: 18-1128).

My comment: The Statement of Interest is a legal brief which ordinary American may not be able to read, much less comprehend. The case number (No 14-cv--14176-ADB) indicated the civil action (cv) was filed in 2014, and currently assigned to district judge Allison Dale Burroughs (I assume her maiden is Dale). The case was first randomly assigned to another district judge of that court, Denise Jefferson Casper (DJC). "Casper is the first black female judge to serve on the federal bench in Massachusetts." Wikipedia. But without explanation in the docket, the case was reassigned to ADB. Presumably DJC recused herself, because she received BA from from Wesleyan University (Middleton, Conn; 1990) and JD from Harvard Law School (1994), whereas ADB was awarded BA from Middlebury College (Middlebury, VT) and JD from U Penn (1988).
