On May 27, 2007 a (male) member of a delegation from US Military Academy at West Point, New York alleged raped a (female) college student of National Taiwan University, who had been invited by a fellow (male) friend surnamed 莊, a fellow Taiwanese and student of Republic of China Military Academy 陸軍官校, to accompany that member for a dinner. She alleged both men set her up, forced liquor on her and allowed the West Point man to rape her afterwards.

"西點軍校生來台參訪性醜聞事件的女主角D女昨天說，陸官莊姓學生向校方表示不知道西點生帶她上旅館的事，這根本是說謊；事實上，事後她與莊用MSN談過此事，莊還坦承自己的做法像個「馬伕」。

"她說，兩人在廿七日晚上七時許在MSN（即時通訊）上交談，她一開始就指責陸官莊姓學生那天一直邀她去喝酒，不但沒幫她擋酒，還拚命把她推去和西點生外宿；她指責他的行徑像「馬伕」，莊姓學生才道歉說他的確有錯。

"D女並很生氣的對莊姓陸官生說：你真的沒資格繼續在陸軍官校！

"以下是兩人的對話摘錄：

"D女：你那天「盧（硬要之意）」我出去喝酒…沒幫我擋酒還幫別人一起「盧」我喝；我都跟你說這樣感覺好像不太好，你沒幫我擋掉，還拚命把我跟他推去外宿。

"莊：嗯嗯…這不是重點。

"D：你不覺得這樣的行為很像馬伕嗎？

"莊：是…對不起，我有錯。

"D：你不覺得你這樣賤賣女性同胞給外國人的行為很…糟糕嗎…你現在說說看該怎麼辦。

"莊：我該請妳吃飯還是？

"D：我覺得私了不能讓你了解這件事情你對我造成的傷害有多大…我那天晚上非常痛苦難過，你知道嗎？任何物質上的彌補，也無法彌補已經造成的傷害。

"莊：我知道我有錯。

"D：可是你有沒有想過你那天這樣的行為不只丟你的臉，好，我可以不要尊嚴，但是國家的尊嚴也被你丟光了你知不知道。

"莊：妳沒有明確的告訴我妳不要這樣做。

"D：我有說這樣不好。

"莊：我想，這是一個很大的誤會。

"D：在我喝醉之前，我很清楚我有跟你說過這樣不好…也跟你說過不要去PUB。

"莊：是我沒有太大的社會經驗…分不清酒後的話，對不起。

"D：剛剛講的話，完全看不出你有悔改之意，還拚命找藉口想把一半的過錯推給我，最好男人是這樣，當軍人是這樣當。衝著你剛剛的態度，你真的沒資格繼續在陸軍官校！

"莊：是我不對，我不可以把妳們湊在一起，一來外國人會覺得台灣女生很隨便，二來我是個加害者…我像個車夫（馬伕之誤）是吧。

"D：你不該這樣利用我，利用我去討好你們寶貝的西點軍校參訪生。

"莊：是。

"D：我之前也勸過你，我們要喝酒隨便找個公園喝一喝聊聊天就好，為什麼你不聽。

"莊：這些都已經是事實了…多說無益。

(ii) During the investigation by Taiwan's Minsitry of National Defense (MND), it was leaked (intentionally of course) that before the dinner, there was another round of MSN instant messanging, as reported by 民視 on June 4, 2007:

"原因就在兩人的msn通聯記錄上，因為這名女大學生在msn上對莊姓學生連問兩次:我會是他的菜嗎?同時還說：「哇!好興奮喔!今晚可以跟又壯、又魁梧的西點軍校生睡在一起了!」莊姓學生也曾經提醒說，西點軍校生年紀比較小，不過這個女大學生卻說，沒關係，姊姊餓很久了。"

D女 did not publicly confirm its authenticity.

(c) What I disliked was that under Taiwan's law, a 陸官學生 would be a civilian, not a soldier, so he could not possibly be court martialed. Therefore, the entire matter should be investigated by civilian prosecutors and police, as opposed to MND (which may have conflict of interest, to protect its reputation, for example.

The end can not justify the means. Without following proper (and here, legal) procedures, the result of anything is open to doubts.
